Jizera Mountains by motorcycle

The Jizera Mountains (Jizerské hory) are among the best biking regions in the Czech Republic. Unlike the Krkonoše, they’re less crowded. A perfect one-day ride covers around 100 km, and boredom is not an option.

From Liberec, head to Bedřichov, either via Ruprechtice or Starý Harcov. Both routes offer great curves and enjoyable climbs right from the start. Bedřichov is the heart of the Jizera Mountains and the ideal place for your ride to truly begin.

Královka and the ridge road

From Bedřichov, continue to Nekras and Královka. A short stop at the lookout tower is worth it. From here, you’ll join one of the most scenic sections of the route: riding along the mountain ridge toward Hrabětice and Josefův Důl.

Desná – Souš – Hejnice

From Desná, ride past the Souš reservoir, the gateway to the northern Jizera Mountains. Another great stop is in Hejnice at the monumental pilgrimage church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary.

Return and the grand finale: Ještěd

From Hejnice, head back toward Liberec. Save the best for last: the climb to Ještěd from Horní Hanychov. The road features a beautiful profile, open curves, and views that make a perfect finale to a full day in the saddle.
