A ride around Slapy Reservoir is perfect for riders of any experience level. The route is easy but fun, with beautiful views of water, forests, and open countryside, along roads that have rhythm. Ideal for a one-afternoon motorcycle trip.
Štěchovice: a start that sets the tone
The ideal starting point is Štěchovice. From here, you ride the legendary Štěchovičák. A 3.5 km uphill stretch spiced with several beautiful switchbacks.
Slapy Dam and Rabyň Viewpoint
After the climb, enjoy a smooth descent toward the village of Slapy and the dam itself. It’s worth stopping here, taking off your helmet, and admiring the deep blue water of the reservoir below.
Next, don’t miss the Rabyň Viewpoint. One of the most scenic spots in the area, it’s perfect for a short break.
Bělice – Svatý Jan: forests and curves
Past the village of Bělice, the fun continues toward Stranný and Nahoruby. Near Sedlčany, turn toward Svatý Jan. A fantastic forested stretch with winding curves awaits the highlight of the route. At the top, a small parking area offers sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.
Then descend into the Brsina stream valley and reach Kamýk nad Vltavou, crossing the river—a place that really makes you feel at the heart of Central Bohemia.
Obory – Nečín: quiet and cinematic spots
After Kamýk, the road climbs again through Obory and Nečín. In the surrounding forests, you’ll spot granite quarriesfamiliar from many Czech films and fairy tales, including The Immortal Aunt.
Return to Štěchovice
From Nečín, it’s just a short ride back to Štěchovice. Along the way, you can take a small detour to the Veselý vrch lookout or stop at the Špýchar Museum in Prostřední Lhota. Both perfect additions to a day in the saddle.
