Koko\u0159\u00ednsko is one of the classic biker regions. Not because of speed, but because of atmosphere. Narrow roads squeezed between sandstone cliffs, deep forests, medieval castles, and villages where time seems to have stopped. It\u2019s an ideal one-day ride, best enjoyed at a relaxed pace with your visor up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start in M\u011bln\u00edk: the gateway to the Koko\u0159\u00edn Valley<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Start your loop in M\u011bln\u00edk and head toward Lhotka. This is where you first feel the true character of the region. In Lhotka, make sure to stop at the rock dwellings carved directly into the sandstone<\/strong>. The last resident lived here until 1982, which gives the place a powerful sense of authenticity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harasov and Koko\u0159\u00edn: the heart of the region<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

From Lhotka, continue to Harasov. The small pond surrounded by rock walls is one of the most photogenic spots on the route. From here it\u2019s just a short ride to Koko\u0159\u00edn Castle, rising from a rocky spur above the valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Houska and Bezd\u011bz: castles with a story<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

From Koko\u0159\u00edn, head toward Houska Castle. According to legend, it was built over a gateway to hell. You may not meet any demons, but the atmosphere is unmistakable. The route then continues to Bezd\u011bz Castle<\/strong>, the dominant landmark of the M\u00e1cha region, standing above the landscape like a stone lighthouse. Even riding beneath it is an experience in itself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00e1cha Lake: a coffee break<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Take road no. 38 toward M\u00e1cha Lake, an ideal place for a short break. Coffee, a light bite, or simply taking off your helmet and switching off for a moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Return via Jest\u0159eb\u00ed and the Devil\u2019s Heads<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The way back leads past the rock castle of Jest\u0159eb\u00ed and on through Dub\u00e1. Near the village of \u017del\u00edzy, just off the road, you\u2019ll find the monumental rock sculptures known as the Devil\u2019s Heads<\/strong>, created by sculptor V\u00e1clav Lev\u00fd. A brief stop here is the perfect way to round off the ride before returning to M\u011bln\u00edk. If you have extra time, the local ossuary, one of the largest in the country is also worth a visit.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
